Gail Davis as "Annie Oakley"

A pioneer of early television and the first woman to star in her
own western series, Gail Davis had a lot of guts playing crackshot
Annie Oakley--a part that was not fashionable in the 1950s
(America perceived and preferred cowboys as heroes, not cowgirls).
However, Davis was awfully cute in pigtails and spangled western
gear; and she could outride and outshoot any man who dared to
challenge her prowess.

Davis had a spunky, outgoing personality and was a big sister
type to youngsters........................................................................
