Jack Lord

Jack Lord was usually serious in his “tough guy” roles, and didn’t smile
much on Hawaii Five-O, or in any of the westerns in which he appeared.
Lord was Susan Oliver’s outlaw boyfriend who slapped Edward Platt around
on Bonanza, and was Richard Boone’s nemesis on Have Gun Will Travel.

On the big screen, Lord sparked interest in Man of the West (1958) with
Gary Cooper and Julie London, Hangman (1959) with Rober Taylor and
Tina Louise, and Ride to Hangman’s Tree (1967) with Don Galloway and
James Farentino. Lord was also an accomplished painter. He died from
complications of Alzheimer’s disease in his Hawaii home.
