James Warner Bellah:
WRITING ON THE RANGE

    Those who are familiar with the career of Captain Nathan Brittles, his junior Lieutenants Ross Pennell and Flint Cohill, Sergeant Tyree of the legendary horsemanship, Colonel Owen Thursday of the doomed and damned ambition, and all the rest of the troopers, sutlers, and settlers in and around Fort Starke, should know the name of James Warner Bellah.
    Mr. Bellah authored the legendary cavalry epics of John Ford's unforgettable cavalry trilogy, Fort Apache, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, and Rio Grande, starring John Wayne. Not only did Bellah write the three screenplays, he adapted them from his own short stories: "Massacre," "Mission Without a Name," and "The Big Hunt." Bellah cut these characters from the faded blue cloth..................
