Jesse White became a vaudevillian in the 1940s after a short-lived
career as a salesman (maybe customers took him for the shyster he
usually played on screen). He became a solid supporting actor in the
1950s performing with James Stewart on stage and in the
fantasy favorite, Harvey (1950).
White appeared in the film, Gunsmoke (1953) with Audie Murphy,
and in a red-letter comical episode of Bonanza — “The Saga of
Muley Jones.”
Most will remember him as the Maytag man……………………………
