Julie London

   Born Julie Peck in 1926, in California, London was sultry and effective as a pop singer in the 1950s, although her movie career actually began in the 1940s.  Red House with Edward G. Robinson and Western stalwart Rory Calhoun is quite memorable as film noir.

    London was the female lead in Raoul Walsh's Man of West, with Gary Cooper and Jack Lord.  This may have been one of the first adult Westerns to arrive on the horizon.  London was also a super guest-star on ABC's The Big Valley.

    Miss London was originally married to Hollywood actor and mogul, Jack Webb.  Later, she wedded renowned jazz musician, Bobby Troup, of Route 66 fame.  These two would eventually star together in a Jack Webb Production called Emergency! from 1972-1977.
