Kirk Douglas is back in one of his handful of
westerns -- and he's in
pursuit of justice and possibly revenge as Marshal Matt Morgan in a
small Oklahoma town.
The story begins brutally, with Morgan's wife raped and killed
by two
young, out-of-control ruffians looking for instant thrills. Morgan is
determined to seek them out. Ironically, Morgan's best friend --Belden
(Quinn)--is connected to the crime as his son, played by Holliman, is
directly responsible for the rotten incident.
As it turns out, Belden once saved Morgan's life, and Morgan
knows
he owes him. But, blood is thicker than water -- it was his wife.
