This
is a fine Western offering starring one of the best action hero cowboys of
the silver screen, George O'Brien. The ever-athletic, durable star
minus a stuntman (and he liked it that way) does a bang-up job as a
federal marshal who is bushwhacked on his way to the town of Gunsight
where he will join forces with a "man of the cloth".
Together, lawman O'Brien and minister O'Connor plan to administer justice
and religion to a town lacking both, while uncovering a troupe of
reprehensible cutthroats.
Look for The Rifleman's
Paul Fix and Wagon Train's Ward Bond. On an interesting note,
the film's lovely female lead, Rita Oehmen, years later produced a
daughter --- beautiful and talented Charmian Carr --- who played 16-year
old Liesl in The Sound of Music. |
