Kathleen Freeman

Kathleen Freeman, with her indispensable laugh and quick tongue, was truly one of the best characters of Hollywood film and television! In addition to appearing in Singin’ in the Rain and in a horde of Jerry Lewis comedies, Freeman played the maid on the television sitcom, Topper. Always equipped for comedic parts, freeman also had a recurring role as Gertrude Linkmeier on Hogan’s Heroes.

Freeman was a frequent player in some of the finest Western films made, including Support Your Local Sheriff, The Ballad of Cable Hogue, The Good Guys and The Bad Guys, The Rounders, Mail Order Bride, North to Alaska, and The Far Country. Recently, Freeman died from lung cancer.
