Once upon a time, when movies were made in Hollywood, finding a place to go make Westerns was never a problem.  Hollywood simply went out to its own backyard and started SHOOTING!

    Meanwhile, back at the ranch... It's a pleasure to acquaint you with another Western movie ranch location that lies within the 30-mile Hollywood Studio Zone.  Corriganville is certainly deserving of a visit.  For many years on weekends and holidays you could have done exactly that as you relived the spirit of the Old West on the same streets where many of your favorite Western movies and television shows were shot.  This was the world's first theme park attraction.  Predating both Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland, Corriganville was a real working movie ranch that allowed fans the chance to meet the stars themselves and even get a picture taken with them.  It offered its own rodeo arena, boating lake, picnic and camping grounds, horse rides, hiking trails, gunfights and fistfights;  all for under a dollar.  This creation of Western matinee and serial star Ray "Crash" Corrigan has more than played a part in countless Western movies and television shows.

    Corriganville is located beyond the concrete prairie that is Los Angeles, in the northwest corner of the Studio Zone, where lies a rocky wilderness that separates Los Angeles County................
