J. Lee Thompson

English-born actor, writer and director J. Lee Thompson directed such classics as The Guns of Navarone, Cape Fear, Taras Bulba and Kings of the Sun among his 50 film credits. He directed two Planet of the Apes films, plus the Westerns The White Buffalo (1977) with Charles Bronson and MacKenna’s Gold (1969) with Gregory Peck. He wrote and directed 10 to Midnight and produced several films as well including 1965′s John Goldfarb, Please Come Home. Thompson passed away on August 30, 2002 in British Columbia, Canada.
