Rod Steiger
Rod Steiger in Run of the Arrow

   An Academy® Award winner for 1967's, In the Heat of the Night, Rod Steiger appeared in several memorable Westerns throughout his career including Rogers and Hammersteins' Oklahoma!, Jubal (with Glenn Ford), Run of the Arrow, Duck You Sucker! (with James Coburn) and A Fistful of Dynamite. Steiger's best performances often echoed the contemporary Big City, co-starring Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront, stunning audiences as The Pawnbroker and appearing with Sylvester Stallone in The Specialist. In all, Mr. Steiger appeared in over 100 feature films with roles as diverse as Al Capone, Benito Mussolini, Pontius Pilate, and as the title character in the original television broadcast of Marty. Suffering pneumonia and kidney failure, Mr. Steiger passed away on July 9, 2002.
