TOMBSTONE TRIBUTES

Tony Young

   The star of the 1961 television Western, The Gunslinger, Tony Young portrayed U.S. Cavalry undercover agent Cord. The son of actor Carleton Young, Tony pursued his brief but prolific career in acting following a stint in the U.S. Air Force. Young also appeared alongside James Garner in 1970's A Man Called Sledge, Elvis Presley in 1969's Charro!, and starred in the 1965 film adaptation of the Louis L'Amour novel, Taggart. Young's Western credits also include the appearances on such TV Westerns as The Virginian, Bonanza, Maverick, Death Valley Days, Cheyenne, and The Iron Horse. Young passed away on February 26, 2002 of lung cancer.
