TOMBSTONE TRIBUTES

Buddy Ebsen
by: Crystal Samuelian

Buddy Ebsen

It's a toss-up whether Buddy Ebsen is more famous for his TV role as Jed Clampett in The Beverly Hillbillies or as Davy Crockett's sidekick George Russel in Walt Disney's TV production of Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier. The talented actor-dancer-comic-author had roles in Have Gun - Will Travel, The Andy Griffith Show, Black Saddle, Maverick and Gunslinger to name only a few of his TV credits. He also played comic relief to singing cowboy Rex Allen in multiple movies. Ebsen passed away of complications from pneumonia.
