Where else can fans meet dozens of their favorite celebrities for autographs and photo ops, and all in one room in a single weekend? You guessed it. The Hollywood Collectors & Celebrities Show. Never emulated, never equaled, always fun! The charming Ray and Sharon Courts started this tradition of excellence in the early 1990s, presenting The Hollywood Collectors & Celebrities Show throughout the country, appearing four times a year at each location. It was a privilege for the Wildest Westerns staff to be a part of the January 27/28, 2006 show held at the beautiful Burbank Airport Hilton in Burbank, California, where issues of the magazine literally flew off the table; and, it was a pleasure to meet and talk with various readers of our publication, as well as the array of stars we all enjoy watching on the screen. The celebrities who were in attendance at the recent Burbank show included Richard Chamberlain, Linda Purl, Robert Clary, France Nuyen, Lou Ferrigno, Marjorie Lord, George Chakiris, Olivia Hussey, Joanna Cassidy, Betty Garrett, Jayne Meadows, Russ Tamblyn, Erin Gray, and Bo Svenson. Western stalwarts included Coleen Gray, Andrew Prine, Edd Byrnes, Cheryl Rogers, Richard Anderson and, for the first time appearing together since the Western series Alias Smith and Jones completed its run on television, Roger Davis and Ben Murphy. In commemoration of Alias’ 35th Anniversary, the show’s stars, along with author Ms. JoAnne Bagwell, signed the new book “Alias Smith and Jones: The Story of Two Pretty Good Bad Men”. Also, in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of television’s classic Batman, Ray and Sharon rounded up Adam West, Burt Ward, Yvonne Craig, Lee Meriwether, and Julie Newmar, for what was to be the cast’s first public appearance together in years. In addition to meeting celebrity guests galore at the Hollywood Collectors & Celebrities Show, fans and collectors also have the opportunity to browse and purchase Hollywood memorabilia from the many dealers/vendors in the showroom. So, if you’re in the neighborhood, do drop by the April 22nd & 23 rd Show. It’s sure to be a real kick in the pants! |
