"The Undefeated"

This is one of Duke's weakest films, post-Stagecoach.
Of course, he's
lively as ever with fists, guns, and jokes flying in all directions, but the
plot is much too simple and makes for a routine actioneer at best. The
Civil War has just ended, but another war is brewing south of the border.
Duke and his Union patriots bite off more then they can chew when they
sell horses to Emperor Maximilian who's trying to put down Benito
Juarez' revolt. They wind up double-crossed by the French and later,
outsmarted by..........................................
